How encapsulation is run on an office floor.
A low-moisture polymer solution is agitated into the fibre, usually with a counter-rotating brush. The polymers surround and bind soil, crystallise as they dry, and vacuum out. No lake of water in the backing. Nine times out of 10, commercial carpets can be maintained this way.
- Pre-vacuum with an upright brush-action vacuum.
- Pre-spray an encapsulation and crystallisation solution.
- Agitate with a counter-rotating brush machine.
- Regular vacuuming over time removes the encapsulated soils.
